I started reading the Facebook Effect book last month and I will have to say I was very surprised. It was better than I had expected, and I wanted to keep reading it. Yea I know the person who hates Facebook is saying they actually like reading the book. Lol. To start out, I was very impressed with Parker's role in helping bring Facebook to what it is today. When you look at the movie, and how he was portrayed, you wouldnt think that he actually did any good. Even after being kicked out of Facebook he never stopped helping Zuckerburg and the company. I found that to be true commitment.
To me it doesnt matter what someones past is, as long as they are willing to put forth the effort needed to complete their job. Parker had a bad reputation and I feel like that ended up hurting him in the long run. He was judged from the beginning by many. Yea he was in the wrong when he was caught with the drugs and under aged girls. Although one has to wonder, would he have been kicked out or given another chance if he didnt have such a bad rep?
